WASHINGTON (AP) — Six former and current Russian army officials sought to interrupt computer hacking on the French election, that the Winter Olympics, also U.S. hospitals and organizations, based on a Justice Department indictment unsealed Monday that details destructive strikes on a wide variety of political, athletic and financial goals.

The indictment accuses the defendants, all alleged officers at the Russian military service referred to since the GRU, in destructive strikes on Ukraine’s PowerGrid in a hack-and-leak effort led at the political party of French President Emmanuel Macron at the days leading upto this 20 17 election; and also to impede an investigation into the supposed Nerve Agent poisoning of some former secret agent and his own daughter.

The indictment doesn’t control the defendants in relation with hindrance from American elections, even though the officials are a part of the exact military intelligence component which prosecutors say interfered from the 20-16 U.S. presidential elections by hacking Democratic email accounts.

The 50-page indictment, filed in federal court in Pittsburgh, concentrates instead on strikes that prosecutors said were directed toward boosting Russian’s own interests. Those include cyber-attacks that targeted at the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea, at which Russian athletes were prohibited as a result of a state-sponsored doping attempt.

“No country has weaponized its own cyber capacities since maliciously and irresponsibly as Russia, wantonly causing extreme security injury to pursue small strategic benefits as suits of no matter,” said Assistant Attorney General John Demers, ” the Justice Department’s top national security officials.
